Sufi Saints of India

AS AJODAN OR PAKPATTAN was the residence of his PEER BABA FAREED HZT NIZAMUDDIN’S mind always connected to that place. This was very natural that AJODHAN had Become Alost second home for HZT NIZMUDDIN. Though he never had a residence in AJODHAN yet he continues his spiritual Education from distance. He lived in Delhi but every year he spend holy month of RAMZAN in AJODHAN with his peer. During his third journey, BABA FAREED nominated him his spiritual deputy or KHALIFA.
The Full Name of HAZRAT NIZAMUDDIN AUIA was MOHD. BIN AHMAD BIN DANYAL ALI BUKHARI. He became AJODHAN, ORPHAN at tender age of 5. He came to Delhi along with his elder sister and mother got regular education from religious scholars of Delhi. Latter on he went to AJODHAN and became his MUREED. BABA FAREED guided him successfully on the path of Sufism and attainment of spiritual order.
5. ONCE WHEN HZT. NIZAMUDDIN was returning back from BABA FAREED gave him two advises. “If you take loan from someone then pay back at the earliest. Secondly always behave with your enemies in such a way that they may realize that you are their friends. HZT NIZAMUDDIN followed these advices throughout his life very rigidly. It is difficult to find such obedience.
HZT NIZAMUDDIN AULIA did not like the Hustle Bustle of Delhi. It disturbed his routine of prayers. So he shifted to a rented house at GHAYASPUR VILLAGE near Delhi. This is the same place which is now famous as basti HZT NIZAMUDDIN. From this place he started his spiritual mission of charity kindness guidance and welfare of people. After his death when his DARGAH was constructed his MUREEDS carried forward his teachings and welfare works he had started in his lifetime. Till today his DARGAH has continued his mission.
SUFI SAINT HZT NIZAMUDDIN established KHANQAH at GHAYASPUR village near Delhi. This was the biggest KHANQAH that period where from common men to scholars of various religions used to come in great numbers. It was strict practice of HZT NIZAMUDDIN that first he served food to travelers, poor and destitute, wandering faqeers and orphans. Later on he used to go alone to his small room and sat there with left over bread of Barley with a bowl of water. He prayed and ate that hard bread by soaking in to water to make it eatable.
SUFI SAINT HZT NIZAMUDDIN firmly believed and practiced “ALI KHALAQ AIYAL UL LAH”  meaning  “all creations are God’s family”   he was  used such highly good behavior that even his opponents felt good about  him and turned his admirers. He permanently provided langar thrice a day for all those who came hungry at his KHANQAH. But he himself kept fast throughout his life. Keeping himself aloof and at distance with kings and nobles he ruled over people of Delhi in his saintly ways.
Great poet and multi dimensional personality Amir KHUSRU was HAZRAT NIZAMUDDIN AULIA’S most favorite MUREED. He had the privilege of affection of HZT NIZAMUDDIN who used to share with him spiritual discourse of highest order.  Once AMIR KHUSRO asked HZT NIZAMUDDIN “o my lord why you live such hard live? You keep fast in the day and pray whole night? You provide Lungar to all but you eat stale and hard bread with water? HZT NIZAMUDDIN replied “dear KHUSRO even this hard bread is difficult to swallow for me!even today from among lakhs people of Delhi there will be people who will be unable to sleep due to Hunger. In my earthly life even one person sleeps hungry in my neighborhood I will face god
RENOWNED SCHOLAR ZIAUDDIN BARNI wrote in his book “TAREEKH-E-FIROZSHAHI” “HZT NIZAMUDDIN AULIA was such a person that not only god loved him but he was also loved by common man. Usually people torn to prayer to follow him and have gift of public popularity to teach oneness of god and oneness of mankind. He started this mission and successfully spread it. Even today his teachings provide spiritual solace to heart and mind of disturbed and restless peoples.
